THE TRUFFO CO. was created with one simple goal, to offer the best truffle oils to the foodservice industry. Why was this our goal? As consumers, we found the truffle oil market to be quite perplexing. With so many brands and varying prices, it was hard as a consumer to discern what a quality truffle oil should be. Furthermore, no truffle oil company explained truffle oil clearly, leading some consumers to believe truffle oil was produced using fresh truffles. When deciding on what market to tackle first, foodservice was a clear choice because if we could win the loyalty of top chefs, transitioning our products to retail should go without a hitch.
After sampling hundreds of truffle oils from around the world and a very smelly kitchen, we began operations as a purveyor. We worked with producers in Italy to develop the truffle flavorings that met our quality criteria and married them with equal in quality extra virgin olive oils. Since then, our truffle oils are now in distribution across North America to the some of the finest establishments in major city centers.
In 2012, we made a pivotal transition to become the producer of our own truffle oils, enabling us the ability to offer a broader range of truffle oils to more market segments and to slowly expand on our goal of being a global premier manufacturer of truffle flavored foods. As a producer, we are not limited to the type of oil or truffle flavor that we use and, as a result, we also offer turn-key manufacturing which includes custom truffle oil blending and private labelling to meet the growing demand of the private label industry.
